The capital of Andaman and Nicobar Islands spreads over an area of
3106 square kilometres / 1942 square miles. Port Blair, besides being the only town
in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, is also the only entry point. Being the capital
city, Port Blair houses all the government and administrative offices of the Union
Territory.
The Island acts as an epicentre from where maximum tourist
destinations can be covered. Few places around Port Blair are: Mount Harriet,
Wandoor Beach, Chidiya tapu Beach, Ross Island, North Bay Island, Jolly Bouy,
Cellular Jail, Water Sports Complex Etc.
Neil Island
Neil Island is situated 22km/20nm from Port Blair. Neil, with its very
relaxed vibe and long, deserted beaches is a place to chill out after the "bustle"
of Havelock. Neil is quite small compared to Havelock. Its widest part is about 5 km
in length. You can walk the whole island in about an hour or two.
Some popular Tourist attraction in Neil Island are: Laxmanpur Beach,
Sitapur Beach , Bharatpur and Natural Bridge
Baratang
Baratang is situated 39.4km/35nm from Port Blair. Baratang offers some
unique attractions in the form of Mud Volcanoes and Limestone caves. The limestone
caves remain one of the favourite tourist destinations. The trek to reach the caves
is adventurous.
This is one of best part of your trip to Andaman Islands. Here you get
to see the wild nature as well as its beauty. Andaman trip will be incomplete
